Spaceship is a post-apocalypse gymnasium & dance studio – with its head in the clouds – high above the local shops in Campsie NSW.

Spaceship runs events, supports community initiatives, and hires space to the public, as well as providing a limited number of gym memberships for local artists, craftspersons, creatives and event organisers.

Spaceship’s main assets are its two large dance studios – The Activity Room and the Space Lounge. These are available for hire to the public subject to suitability, for dance classes, wellness workshops and performance events.

Spaceship seeks to provide spaces that are safe for neurodivergent, genderqueer, eccentric and trauma-affected humans. Due to pre-existing regulations, Spaceship has a maximum passenger capacity of 50 persons, ensuring all voyagers have space to move and breathe freely while on their journey with us. Unfortunately, access to Spaceship is via stairs only – for safety reasons it is a condition of entry that all passengers are able to use stairs without assistance.

Spaceship is a non-denominational space. Discrimination, bullying, harrassment, hanging of flags or slogans, ridiculing personal beliefs, and unconsentual discussion about religious or political topics may result in passengers being sent back to earth. Individuals are encouraged to organise consentual discussions and confront challenging ideas, including your own beliefs and assumptions.

The building at 43 North Parade has been used as a local gymnasium and health centre since the 1980’s. The gym has served as a place of relief, encouragement, motivation, and shared experience for thousands of people in the hands of many successive business owners. The Spaceship ethos includes personal, spiritual and community health. If you are looking for a location to host your regular classes or to start your own class or group practice / evolution session, get in touch with the Captain of the Spaceship.

Spaceship is a temporary, evolving, ephemeral space to be enjoyed before the wrecking ball makes way for new apartment buildings. Please respect the local businesses and Campsie residents, and support local shops while you visit the area.
